Hazel Court Ponds.

Hazel Court Ponds is a complex of 6 ponds, catering from the pleasure angler to the specialist Catfish and Carp anglers, with a wide variety of fish species including Bream of 8lb, Tench to 8lb 8oz, Golden Tench to 7lb and Roach and Rudd to a very respectable size. Orfe to over 5lbs are regularly recorded too. Chub and hybrids can pop up nearly anywhere. It’s a fishery hard to categorize as so many species inhabit the waters, but the mainstay is carp in all of its colors and varieties. A big-fish venue if you’re up to it! Catfish have now been caught at a massive 69lb with Mike Mamo breaking our Catfish Lake record in 2009. Carp to 25lb are regularly caught in both the Specimen lake and Catfish lake. (These fish can all be found in our gallery) |

To accommodate the pleasure of the growing number of keen carp enthusiasts, one of the four original spring-fed ponds was turned into a Specimen Lake of three-quarter acres. Heavily stocked with large fish, mirror carp, ghost carp and a wide variety of coloured carp. it regularly yields hefty catches of 20lb-plus residents, enough to satisfy the most eager carp anglers, with top weights now reaching up to 28lbs. The new Bottom Lake offers small carp and bream, all about 5lb in weight, although this pond has already produced carp to 16lb
All lakes are available for night fishing. Access to all water is good with open grassy banks - quite suitable for the disabled and enough room for the longest pole. All ponds are up to 6ft deep with silt bottoms.
We have adequate parking and toilet facilities. Also tea, coffee and a small selection of bait are available to buy. |
